Create Computer Games - Get Started on Creating Your Own Virtual Worlds

I have always loved video games, in the afternoon after elementary school when I first played them on a friend's computer.I myself have always wanted to play but, until recently, did not have the technical knowledge to do so. Now, I'ma second year software engineering student, so if I were not able to code a game without many dramas there'd be quite wrong. But what about the common man: the person for whom the term 'memory leak' your grandfather's picture conjures, 'pipeline', where water flows, and 'blitting' is unheard of? Well, everyone can get on the game creation process, and the 'real' do not need to learn programming.

Where to start the game? With an idea. Sport, like all fiction, an idea need to be successful. Sure, the same way you can just sit down and write a story without foresight, you can jump on and play with a slap. However, unless you're ridiculously lucky, the best works are usually the ones that have been well thought out beforehand.

There are two ways to create a project plan.In general, the other way is probably the best way to go with the game design. But when you first start out, the first option will save you many headaches.

So, for a first game you are going to want to consider a lot easier.are going to a butterfly on his actions impact the future of the virtual universe when it's your first time with the game. Really. Many people try it, none that I have succeeded. Imitation is the best way to start out. 'Space Invaders', 'Tetris', 'Pacman' or even 'Pong' as simple games are great places to start. But something inherent to all large-scale challenges are simple. For example, 'Pacman' for ghosts need to find the path. I suggest that you also for your first attempt to start easier than that. 'Space Invaders' a good without much effort you have to jump in. A simple, complete game is almost infinitely extensible and it can make a point.

If you're stuck for an idea, pick a style that you enjoy. You 'Grim Fandango' Monkey Island ',' Space Quest ',' King's Quest 'etc. love adventure games? One of those designs. You 'Street Fighter', 'Tekken', 'Soul Calibur' are fighting games like "Mortal Kombat", and so on? Come up with an idea for that. You 'earthquake', 'Half Life' or 'Doom' such as first person shooters? I do not recommend as a first project, but you can always give it a go. Feel free to be as general as you like, after all this is a learning experience.

Now that you have your idea, it's time to flesh out.The main characters, game play, goals, dialogue, story, and key mappings, anything you can think to describe.Changing game design during the coding process is almost always a bad idea. Once it is installed, the tweaking phase (I go into this more later) or you'll be set until 'development hell', where the project is expected to enter goes on and on, more and more work is less and less results.
